Course Description:

This comprehensive hands-on course provides advanced training in the surgical anatomy, harvesting, and application of autogenous bone grafts from intraoral donor sites, including the mandibular ramus and symphysis. Emphasis is placed on the anatomical considerations, flap design, harvesting techniques, recipient site preparation, block fixation, and suturing strategies. Participants will gain clinical competence in advanced bone augmentation protocols, including the Bone Shell Technique (Khoury), and Ti-Mesh-assisted grafting procedures. The course integrates didactic lectures, clinical videos, and case-based discussions to enhance clinical decision-making and surgical proficiency.

Course Goal:

To equip participants with the anatomical knowledge, surgical skills, and clinical protocols necessary for predictable execution of advanced intraoral bone grafting procedures for horizontal and vertical ridge augmentation.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

Identify critical anatomical landmarks relevant to harvesting ramus and chin block grafts.

Perform flap designs and releasing incisions appropriate for ramus and chin graft procedures.

Execute harvesting techniques for ramus and chin bone blocks while minimizing donor site morbidity.

Prepare recipient sites for optimal graft adaptation and integration.

Apply principles of block fixation and manage soft tissue closure with tension-free suturing.

Implement the Bone Shell Technique (Khoury) , including block preparation and stabilization.

Integrate Ti-Mesh and membrane adaptation techniques in complex grafting scenarios.

Critically evaluate clinical cases and formulate individualized treatment plans.

Observe and understand step-by-step surgical procedures through instructional videos of ramus harvesting.
